The Francisco de Lacerda Museum promotes the Reading Week from May 14 to 18 under the theme "Reading is Pleasure." The activity is organised with the collaboration of Calheta and Velas town halls, the basic education and secondary schools of these municipalities and Topo Basic Education School.
 
This initiative will be held at these three educational establishments with the aim of promoting reading, especially in school environment. It will be promoted through meetings with storytellers Ricardo Ávila and Flávia Medeiros, and writer Paulo Condessa.
 
The programme includes a workshop on oral storytelling and reading mediation promoted by Ricardo Ávila for reading mediators as well as a gathering with writer Paulo Condessa and an illustration workshop conducted by Flávia Medeiros.
