Government moves forward with classification of property in the municipality of Ponta Delgada
According to the announcements published today in the Official Journal, the Government of the Azores has determined the opening of the classification procedures for the classification of ten properties in the municipality of Ponta Delgada as monument of public interest.
In the village of São José, these procedures will comprise a property designated as House and another designated as Victorian House, both located on Rua Dr. João Francisco de Sousa, and Palmeiras House located in Largo 2 de Março. As for the village of São Pedro, there are plans to classify a dwelling on Rua do Perú and the São Pedro House at Largo Almirante Dunn.
With regard to the village of São Sebastião, the procedures for the classification of monuments will include the Deodato Soares House and Agnelo Casimiro House, both located on Avenida Gaspar Frutuoso, and the Armazéns Cogumbreiro building. Moreover, a property designated as House, located on rua Dr. José de Almeida Pavão Júnior in the village of São Roque, will also be classified as a monument of public interest.
The Government has also decided to launch a procedure for the classification of a property in the village of Sete Cidades, designated as Grande House of Sete Cidades and Picturesque Garden, which is located on rua dos Xailes Negros.
A property under classification and those located within the protection zone, 50 metres from its external limits, as determined by Law no.107/2001 of September 8, are comprised by the provisions of the Regional Legislative Decree no. 3/2015 of February 4.
Interested parties may submit their opinion on the classification procedures now in progress in writing and within a period of 30 days. They may include all facts and elements that may lead to a fair and rapid decision regarding these processes.
All elements are available for consultation by prior appointment at Ponta Delgada City Hall and at the premises of the respective Village Councils.
