Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library in Angra do Heroísmo celebrates 75th anniversary of the first edition of "Mau Tempo no Canal"
The Regional Directorate for Culture, through Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive in Angra do Heroísmo, hosts a reading session of excerpts from the novel "Mau Tempo no Canal" next Saturday, February 16, at 5:30 PM. The initiative intends to mark the 75th anniversary of first edition of Vitorino Nemésio's novel.
Considered one of the best Portuguese novels of the 20th century, "Mau Tempo no Canal" tells the story of Margarida, an iconic character whose rebellious nature gets her into a constant drift through life.
The initiative includes a re-enactment of a sermon at the Dulmo home, based on the Chapter IV - "Nocturno", by A Sala theatre group.
This activity jointly organised with Praia da Vitória City Council and Vitorino Nemésio Secondary School.
