Music Season celebrates bicentennial of Franz Liszt's birth

A piano recital by Joana Alexandre Gama featuring commentaries by Alexandre Delgado will be held at the Horta Public Library and Regional Archives, Faial, next Friday at 9:30 PM.

The initiative, organised under the 2011 Music Season and promoted by the Presidency of the Government, through the Regional Directorate for Culture, will mark the bicentenary of the birth of famous Hungarian composer and pianist Franz Liszt.

The recital programme features the first nine pieces of the work "Years of Pilgrimage" by Franz Liszt, who is still considered one of the greatest pianists of all time and one of the leading figures of the romantic period, having written a vast repertoire for piano, his beloved instrument.
