The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Pico Museum, in collaboration with the League of Veterans of Pico Island opens a painting exhibition entitled "My brushstrokes" by Victor Silveira at the Whaling Museum in Lajes do Pico next Friday, September 28, at 9 PM.
The exhibition will be open until October 7. It comprises a set of oil paintings on canvas and acrylic, featuring landscape themes, portraits, abstract representations of animals and human figures.
A native of Terceira Island, Victor Silveira attended his first oil painting workshop in 2015 at "Pintar Fácil Atelier," where he learned the "wet-on-wet" technique and painted his first painting under the title "Pot of Hydrangeas."
Since then, he has created about 140 works under the artistic name Vimasil.
This initiative promoted by Pico Museum, which will also include the performance of Silveira Musical Group, aims to promote artistic expressions, aesthetic concepts, artistic production techniques, based on the reality on the reality of the community. It falls within the celebrations of 30th Veterans Day of Pico Island.
