The Pico Museum presents the documentary "Nos Baixos do Maranhão" (In the Lowlands of Maranhão) and the photography exhibition "Divino" at the Whaling Museum in Lajes do Pico next Friday, December 4. The event is jointly organised by the Regional Directorates for Cultures and Communities.

These initiatives fall within the promotion of the documentary made by Brazilian filmmakers Diego Lara and Flávio Oliveira, which are being organised by the Regional Directorate for Communities throughout the archipelago between December 1 and 9; admission is free.

The exhibition of the documentary and the photography exhibition are intended to make the Azoreans acquainted with the way how their cultural traditions and habits are lived in Brazil, particularly in Maranhão.
