The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Wine Museum, receives the first visit of the Itinerant Wine Collection next Thursday, March 23, at 9:30 PM. This initiative is organised by the municipality of Madalena.
With the purpose of informing the population of Pico about the world wine industry, the Wine Collection will bring the best national wines every Thursday in tasting sessions commented by renowned winemakers and local producers.
This journey into the world of the wine industry starts next week, with a wine tasting commented by winemaker Francisco Antunes (Quinta da Bacalhôa Winery), Marco Faria (Curral Atlantis) and José Leonardo (A Burraca Winery).
By the end of June, the Itinerant Wine Collection will bring the best of Portuguese wine industry to all villages of the municipality of Madalena and to the villages of the remaining municipalities. It aims to provide access to this type of knowledge with commented wine tasting sessions and curiosities on oenology.
The promotion of wine, vineyards and local traditions is crucial to the municipality of Madalena, distinguished as "City of Wine 2017." During this year, it will be the main core of the wine industry in Portugal, hosting numerous events.
