The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive, will open the itinerant exhibition "Nós, os de Orpheu" (We, the group of Orpheu) Saturday, April 30, under the centenary celebration of this literary magazine.
Produced by Fernando Pessoa House and courtesy of the Azorean Institute of Culture, the exhibition addressed the contributions provided the Orpheu group's contributions to this magazine, highlighting those that came to light when it was published as well as those immortalised by their memories.
The exhibition closes the Orpheu centenary celebrations (1915-2015) that took place last year. The Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive marked the event with the documentary exhibition “Armando Cortes-Rodrigues e os de Orpheu” (Armando Cortes-Rodrigues and the generation of Orpheu) and the colloquium "Orpheu nos Açores" (Orpheu in the Azores). The latter was organised by the Institute of Traditional Literature Studies (IELT) of University Nova de Lisboa in partnership with the Centre for Overseas History (CHAM) of the University of the Azores and the Ponta Delgada Public Library.
The event also features a documentary exhibition that aims to disseminate the importance of the magazine, its main personalities as well as its impact and influence on the Portuguese cultural scene.
The exhibition will be open until August 31 and can be visited from April 30 to June 30 from 9 AM to 7 PM on weekdays and from 2 PM to 7 PM on Saturdays.
Between July 1 and August 31, it can be visited from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays.
