The Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive promotes a workshop titled "Support Transfer: Digitalisation Projects," which will be taught by Luís Corujo.
This initiative, which runs from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, is the continuation of a series of similar activities the institution has promoted for the internal training of its teams and the updating of knowledge of professionals in the fields of information, information technology and management.
The workshop aims to identify the theoretical and methodological principles for planning, production and management of digitisation projects; recognise the different areas of application of digitisation projects, procedures for maintenance and processing of information, and to present solutions as well as software and hardware mechanisms used in the development of digitisation projects.
Understanding audit and certification needs resulting from the technological specificity of digitisation projects, developing skills in using equipment and applications under digitisation projects and raising awareness for the specific needs related to the management, access and preservation of digital images are other goals of this initiative.
Luís Miguel Nunes Corujo is a guest assistant lecturer in the Master's Degree in Documentation and Information Science of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lisbon. He also holds the position of Archivist at the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon, in addition to be providing training to the Directorate-General for Qualification of Workers in Public Functions and other public and private entities in the areas of document management, electronic files and digital preservation.
Furthermore, he collaborates with the Director-General for Book, Archives and Libraries in the area of digital preservation and is involved in projects related to digital repositories and archival assessment.
