The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive, is the main host of the 24th Ibero-American Anthropology Conference to take place on São Miguel from March 12 to 15.
This international conference will focus on "Museums, Tourism and Heritage" and, in this context, the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive will offer participants a guided tour to Terra Nostra Park in Furnas as well as guided tours to various exhibitions and collection rooms of that institution.
The meeting will be attended by 200 people an features more than 80 speakers from different backgrounds and areas, such as sociology, history, philosophy, communication, economics, politics and literature, among others.
The Conference is organised by Angel Espina Barrio, from the University of Salamanca and the Spanish Society of Applied Anthropology, Luiz Nilton Corrêa, from the Historical and Geographical Institute of Santa Catarina, and Rui de Sousa Martins, from the University of the Azores.
With the aim of promoting this event for future memory, the Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Ponta Delgada Public Library, will record all papers presented, which will be made available online to all interested parties.
