Regional Directorate for Culture promotes workshop on reading promotion projects on Terceira, Faial and São Miguel
The Regional Directorate for Culture promotes a Workshop on Reading Promotion Projects on Terceira, Faial and São Miguel on the last week of March and the first of April 1. It is directed to technicians working in the development of projects in this area and will be conducted by Filipe Leal.
The workshop will take place at Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive in Angra do Heroísmo on March 30 and 31, at Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive on April 3 and 4, and at João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archive in Horta on April 6 and 7.
The sessions will take place from 9 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2 to 5 PM, making up a total of 14 hours.
The varied and extensive programme of this workshop ranges from methods of promoting reading and identifying target audiences to budgeting and financing of projects. This initiative will focus on a practical approach, using all teaching methods and defining, step by step, one reading promotion project.
Filipe Leal graduated in History at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon. He concluded a Specialisation Course on Information Sciences at the same university and the Specialisation Course on Information Studies and Digital Libraries. In 2007, he earned a Master's Degree in Education Science - Education and Reading.
Since 1988, he has worked as a librarian at several Portuguese public libraries, including Setúbal, Alcácer do Sal, Vendas Novas and Oeiras. He also carries out a teaching and training activity in the field of library.
Currently, he is a lecturer in the Post-Graduation Course in Children's Book at the Portuguese Catholic University, where he teaches the course of Reading Promotion, Mediation and Entertainment.
The pre-registration form for this activity is available at the address www.culturacores.gov.pt., which should be sent by mail, fax or email until March 21. It accepts a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 18.
Participants should bring computer with Word and Excel installed.
