Regional and island museum will be open to the public from Friday, April 1, with new operating hours suited to the convenience of the public. The new schedule runs until September 30 and aims to respond to the growing number of visits.
Closed on Monday, the Carlos Machado, Angra do Heroísmo, Pico, Horta, Santa Maria, Graciosa, Francisco de Lacerda and Flores Museums will be open during the summer period (April 1 to September 30) from Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays on days from 10 AM to 5:30 PM, closing for visits at 6 PM.
According to the regulations published on March 11, during the winter period (October 1 and March 31), these museums, which will remain closed on Monday, will be open from Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, closing for visits at 5:30 PM.
These regulations also state that admission is free on Sundays, on the International Museum Day, marked on May 18, and on the Museum's Night.
Admission is also free for children up to 14 years, with the Interjovem Card holders, members of MPOA/ICOM upon presentation of the respective documents, journalists and tourism professionals in the performance of their duties and duly identified, teachers and students at any level of education who are integrated in visits programmed with the museum services, and patrons.
Youth Card holders, young people aged between 15 and 25 years, pensioners, retirees, people over 65 years and teachers of any grade level will benefit from a 50% discount.
