Scheduling of conferences on Management Plan of Angra do Heroísmo Central Area has been changed
Due to scheduling reasons, the Regional Directorate for Culture has made some changes to the schedule of the cycle of conferences "Management Plan - Central Area of Angra do Heroísmo City," an initiative promoted in collaboration with Angra do Heroísmo City Hall.
The conference scheduled for March 31 was postponed to April 28 and will be attended by Peter Samuel, representative of the National Park Service, USA. In turn, the conference scheduled for April 14, featuring the participation of Katherine Malone-France from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, USA, was postponed to May 12.
This cycle of conferences takes place at the Small Auditorium of Angra do Heroísmo Cultural and Congress Centre, always at 8 PM. It began on December 5 and features a lecture by Catherine Leonard from National Trust, United Kingdom, who currently holds the position of Secretary General of the International National Trusts Organisation. This lecture is scheduled for May 26.
Overall, eight conferences have been held within this cycle, featuring papers delivered by the following speakers: President of ICOMOS Communications - International Council on Monuments and Sites; Ana Paula Amendoeira; Francisco Mature-Dias, museologist and representative of the Terceira Historical Institute; architects Antonieta Reis Leite, José Aguiar and Alexandra Gesta; Abílio Dias Fernandes, economist and former mayor of Évora; Raimundo Mendes da Silva, civil engineer and professor at the University of Coimbra; Claudio Varagnoli, architect and member of the University of Pescara, Italy.
