Student Isabela Quadrado, enrolled at Santa Maria Basic Education and Secondary School, was placed 2nd in the 5th Edition of the literary contest "Ethics in Life and Sport," an initiative promoted by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth.
This year, for the first time, the participation of an Azorean student was awarded in a contest targeted to secondary school students. The initiative aims to encourage the production of written works related to Ethics in Life and Sport, rewarding those who present better quality works.
The literary contest falls within the activities carried out under the National Sports Ethics Plan; the Regional Directorate for Sport is one of the institutional partners for its implementation. It has the support of "A Bola" sports newspaper, the Directorate-General for Education/School Sports, the Directorate-General for Reintegration and Prison Services, and the Portuguese Olympic Committee.
Isabela Quadrado will receive the award next Tuesday, September 19, at the premises of "A Bola" newspaper in Lisbon at a ceremony attended by the Regional Director of Sport, António Gomes.
