Inês Pires, student at Santa Clara School on Terceira, and Filipa Azevedo, student at Calheta Basic Education and Secondary School on S. Jorge, will represent the Azores in the National Phase of the MegaSprinter 2018/2019, which takes place Friday and Saturday in Faro, Algarve.
The two students who will take part in the National Phase were placed 1st in their respective age and gender categories in the Regional Phase, held on Terceira Island on February 15 and 16, achieving the scores required by the competition rules.
Both students will be accompanied in the national competition by Mónica Alvernaz, teacher at Calheta Basic Education and Secondary School.
Participation in this event falls within the activities of promoted under the Azores School Sports. It is another opportunity for Azorean students to represent the Region and its schools, being in line with the goals defended in ProSucesso - Azores for Education, integrated plan for the promotion of school success.
