Azores Youth Observatory promotes debate on youth challenges in Outermost Regions
The Azores Youth Observatory (OJA) will organise an international colloquium under the theme "The challenges of Youth in European Outermost Regions" on December 4 and 5.
According to OJA, the meeting will be organised with the purpose of "knowing the consistency of public youth policies with the main aspirations of youngsters in a social, economic and cultural context undergoing profound change."
In this context, one should recall that public youth policies benefit from a set of incentives intended to support social and political participation, youth associations, entrepreneurship, free time occupation, sport, professional traineeships as well as internal and external mobility.
The papers or posters for this colloquium that address aspects concerning the challenges of youngsters in peripheral contexts should be submitted and sent to the email address [email protected] until July 15.
The Azores Youth Observatory is a project developed between the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth and the University of the Azores, through the Social Studies Centre.
In addition to disseminating updated and pertinent information for youngsters through an Internet page, this observatory also provides support to the definition and management of policies intended to reinforce Azorean youth, allowing them to overcome the challenges they face.
