The Regional Education Director pointed out in Ponta Delgada that the Coordinating Council for the Educational System and Standing Committee on Public School Establishments are the spaces for "discussing strategies to improve" the educational system of the Azores.
Rodrigo Reis spoke during the working session held by these advisory bodies of the regional educational system. On the occasion, he pointed out, among other things, the satisfactory achievement of the goals set forth in the programme for the promotion of school success designated as ProSucesso - Azores for Education, which he considered to be the result of the commitment of the entire school community.
The Regional Director also acknowledged the value of different programmes developed by school establishments in the fight against school failure.
In this context, Coordinating Council and the Standing Committee focused on matters concerning curricular autonomy and flexibility, the profile of students after completing compulsory education and essential learning.
The meeting was addressed several projects developed by the Regional Directorate for Education during this year that have stood out, such as the Prof DA. This project is dedicated to solving learning problems in Math and is yielding positive results, as evidenced by the fact that many students covered by this programme already considered Math as their favourite subject.
