On January 20, the Regional Directorate for Education (DRE) promotes the REDA # 7 Meeting dedicated to the theme "Films at School," which will take place in Angra do Heroísmo at 2:30 PM
This event will be held at the auditorium of the Azorean Institute of Culture in co-organisation with Terceira Island Film Club (CCIT). It is part of the REDA Meetings that the Regional Directorate for Education has been developing in the archipelago since the school year 2016/2017.
The purpose of this meeting is to promote the National Film Plan so that it may be implemented in schools, thus disseminating its main pillars as well as some ways of approaching and exploring the films that are part of it.
In this context, the meeting will present examples of initiatives already implemented on the island of Terceira and in Amarante, as a way of inspiring future projects in regional schools. It will also highlight the role of Terceira Island Film Club as an active partner in revitalising the National Film Plan within educational communities.
This event features several speakers, namely Elsa Mendes, National Coordinator of the National Film Plan, Elsa Cerqueira, teacher at Amarante Secondary School and Vice-President of Amarante Film Club, and Carlos Bessa, teacher at Praia da Vitória Basic Education School and member of the Board of CCIT.
Acknowledging the relevance of the development of scientific and digital literacy, the Regional Directorate for Education has proposed the promotion of these meetings, through the REDA team, with the aim of contributing to the training of teachers and students, and the society in general.
The REDA (Open Digital Educational Resources) platform has focused on the sharing and provision of quality educational contents as well as on the dissemination of good practices, innovative projects and creation of educational resources. It is taking a step towards the development of 21st century skills, namely with the progressive introduction of technologies into the classroom.
