The Regional Directorate for Education promotes a lecture on technologies in education, under the REDA Meetings, at Angra do Heroísmo Museum next Friday, October 27.
The initiative starts at 4 PM. It features the participation of Rosa Maria Vicari, from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, José Cascalho, from the University of the Azores, and Tiago Leite, from Angra do Heroísmo Basic Education School.
Rosa Maria Vicari will address the importance of digital resource repositories in education today, José Cascalho will discuss role of educational robotics in raising the interest of students in science and technology, while Tiago Leite will talk about the Mechatronics Club.
The REDA Meetings aim to foster the development of scientific and digital literacy among the educational community and the society in general, through workshops, panels and lectures intended to share experiences and knowledge in an informal context.
These meetings, which began in March, already involved the participation of Afonso Cruz, who addressed creative writing, Alexandre Quintanilha, who explored emerging challenges in knowledge and Adelino Calado, director of the Carcavelos School Group in the municipality of Cascais.
REDA is an open digital educational resources platform developed under the Integrated Plan ProSucesso - Azores for Education; it is updated on a regular basis.
This support platform for teachers and students provides educational resources in various subjects, with special emphasis on Portuguese, Math, Physics and Chemistry, as well as useful links, webinars and sharing of experiences.
Currently, REDA provides about half a thousand educational resources and about a hundred suggestions for educational applications.
