The Regional Network of School Libraries Programme was launched in the Autonomous Region of the Azores under the Regional Reading Plan with the aim of creating a network of school libraries under the guidance of the Regional Directorate for Education, using platforms and information systems.
The Regional Network of School Libraries is founded on the library coordinators, who ensure its operation in schools and plan activities according to the school audience, always taking into account the link with the curriculum and the proximity to the community. Its primary goals concern the development of multiliteracy and the creation of a community of readers.
