The process for the eventual classification of public interest of the building designated as “Cerca Building Complex” in the village of Praia do Norte, municipality of Horta, moved forward today to the phase of written hearing by interested parties.
The deadline for the written hearing phase is set at 15 days, according to the announcement published in the Official Journal by the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, Avelino Meneses, and the public notices posted in the headquarters of Horta City Hall and the Parish Council of Praia do Norte.
At this stage, interested parties are invited to participate by raising or recalling questions and matters of interest for the decision-making process before a decision is made in terms of matters of fact and law.
Considered as a rural building complex, the "Cerca Building Complex” consists of a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Harvest, two houses, two stone mills, two cellars and two cisterns.
According to the Building Heritage Inventory of the Azores, the buildings are located within a square-shaped area surrounded by a wall with three gates. The chapel is located on the outside, leaning against the wall.
