Government of the Azores supports conservation and recovery of whaling heritage in the amount 26 thousand Euros
According to the contracts published today in the Official Journal, the Government of the Azores will allocate the sum of 26,600 thousand Euros to support nine projects that will be developed in the area of whaling heritage.
The measures are intended to support the costs with the conservation and restoration works of the boat "Maria Adelaide" and whaling boat "Acoreana" on the island of Pico; the boats “Senhora da Guia”, “Senhora de Fátima”, “São José”, “Capelinhos”, “Nossa Senhora das Angústias” and “Senhora do Socorro” on the island of Faial; the boats “Maria Celina” and “Espadarte” and the whaling boat “Estrela Açoreana” on the island of Terceira.
Coordinated by Francisco Henriques, the "Archive of Whaling Memories" project will also be funded, through an agreement in the amount of 8277.66 Euros, distributed in equal amounts by the economic years of 2015 and 2016.
