"This programme creates opportunities, guarantees social justice, inspires confidence in young people and constitutes the basis for the future growth of the Azorean economy," said the government official.
The Regional Director for Youth stressed that students are "forced to think outside the box, to fail and to persist." These experiences "inspire young people to become creative, inventive and innovative."
Moreover, Lúcio Rodrigues pointed out that "entrepreneurship values skills and talents that, normally, could be regarded as inappropriate behaviour in the context of conventional classroom, guiding them to success," said Lúcio Rodrigues.
According to the Regional Director for Youth, the "Entrepreneurial Education: The Road to Success" programme is an "important ally of the Regional Government in terms of public youth policies by the encouraging the creation of self-employment and contributing to the Region's active employment and economic policy in the long-term."
This training course aims to explain the teachers' understanding of entrepreneurship and to present the educational contents to be worked out with the students throughout the school year.
