The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Culture, has launched a new tender for the submission of application for the support measures for the operation and management of regional research and development centres and units.

The application period takes place from September 3 to 26. The tender is mainly intended to promote the sustainability and growth of the research centres and units, whose activities clearly contribute to the development of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

Entities may submit their applications online through the submission of a form available on the website http://idia.azores.gov.pt. The entities eligible for these support measures are the following: research centres of the University of the Azores, including autonomous units belonging to other centres or that are part of associated laboratories, and hospital research units.

This is another initiative promoted by the Government of the Azores to reinforce regional skills in the field of Science and Knowledge, taking into consideration the importance of this sector to the global progress of the Region.
