Regional Secretary for Education and Culture appointed juries of the Azores cultural prizes
The Regional Secretary for Culture and Education has appointed the juries of "Canto da Maia" Sculpture Pri, "Christiano Júnior” Photography Prize and "Ayres d'Aguiar" Cinema and Audiovisual Prize. The order was published today in the Official Journal.
The jury of "Canto da Maia" Award is composed of Duarte Melo, member of the Regional Council of Culture, Álvaro Raposo França, plastic artist, and Paulo Henriques, art critic.
This prize aims to reward every two years, in odd years, regional artists as well as to promote cultural activities in the area of plastic arts, namely Sculpture, Public Art in Institutional Spaces and Statuary.
Luís Menezes, member of the Regional Council of Culture, and photographers António Carlos da Silva Araújo and José Manuel Rodrigues will be the jury of "Christiano Júnior" Prize.
This photography prize intends to reward every two years, in odd years, regional photographers and enhance regional cultural activity in the field of photography, especially in the categories of Free-themed General Photography, Natural Landscape Photography and Photographic Portray of People.
The jury of "Ayres d'Aguiar" Prize consists of Manuel Bernardo Cabral, member of the Regional Council of Culture, António Pedro Vasconcelos, film director, Anabela Branco Oliveira, cinema critic.
The award aims to reward every two years, in odd years, regional film-makers and acknowledge the value of regional cultural activities in the area cinema and audiovisuals, particularly in the Fiction, Documentary and Animation categories.
The submission of works to compete in these regional prizes should be made until November 30, 2015.
