According to the Regional Director for Science and Technology, this tender aims to "encourage the organisation of events aimed at scientific and technological dissemination in the Azores," being a "contribution to the promotion of the knowledge society on the nine islands of the archipelago."
Bruno Pacheco stressed that this support measure covers "the participation of students and teachers of regional schools and higher education students in competitions, festivals and other scientific and technological events at regional, national and international level."
The tender, promoted under PRO-SCIENTIA, financial incentive system for science and technology, has an overall budget of 50 thousand Euros and runs until September 15.
It is open to the University of the Azores, public schools and vocational training schools in the archipelago and other regional public or private non-profit organisations developing activities aimed at the coordination, management and promotion of science and technology.
Applications should be made using the form available at the address: http://idia.azores.gov.pt.
With this measure, the Regional Directorate for Science and Technology aims to promote the knowledge society, disseminate scientific and technological culture and provide informal learning environments.
