Regional Government invites Startup Europe Regions Network to visit regional Science and Technology Parks
The Regional Government, through the Regional Directorate for Science and Technology, invited the Startup Europe Regions Network (SERN) for a working visit to the two regional Science and Technology parks, NONAGON on São Miguel and TERINOV on Terceira.
The Regional Director for Science and Technology stated that this visit, scheduled for October 14-15, aims to “strengthen the links between regional authorities, development agencies and companies in order to expand scientific-based startup ecosystems” at regional level, promoting the emergence of new companies.”
Bruno Pacheco pointed out that the fact that SERN "has on the ground knowledge of the Azorean entrepreneurial ecosystem and shares, in greater detail and proximity, its mission as a business support structure. This will enable a closer relation between companies and funding sources as well as between companies and their European counterparts."
"Networking, i.e., cooperation between the public and private sectors, contributes to leveraging the internationalisation of markets and the growth of the regional economy," added the government official.
Azores Science and Technology parks are members of the Startup Europe Regions Network.
Besides a presentation session on SERN's mission and potential, the programme of the visit also includes two workshops.
