Meeting of FUNDOPESCA convened for February 9

The Regional Secretariat for the Sea, Science and Technology, through the Regional Directorate for Fisheries, has convened a meeting of the Administration Board of FUNDOPESCA to analyse the criteria for the activation of the fund.

The Administration Board of FUNDOPESCA is an advisory body made up of representatives of fishers, shipowners, Lotaçor and the Regional Secretariats for Social Solidarity and for the Sea, Science and Technology.

The Wage Compensation Fund of the Azores Fisheries Professionals, commonly designated as FUNDOPESCA, was established in 2002 with the aim of providing a salary compensation to Azorean fishers when, in certain cases provided by law, are prevented from working.

The Administration Board has the power to evaluate and define the criteria to be observed in the activation of this fund.
