Santa Catarina Cannery recipient of "Best of the Best" award at National Food Products Contests
Santa Catarina Cannery from São Jorge has been distinguished with four prizes at National Food Products Contests, including the "Best of the Best" award in the Canned Tuna category with the product "Tuna Fillet with Thyme."
This year, the Azorean Cannery participated in the Canned Fish and Tuna Paste categories under this contest, jointly organised by CNEMA and the National Agriculture Fair, which is celebrating its 50th edition.
Being distinguished with the "Best of the Best" award, Santa Catarina Cannery is entitled to have its exclusive stand, free of charge, at the National Agriculture Fair that will take place in Santarém from June 8-16.
The prizes will be delivered to the Santa Catarina Cannery at a dinner to be held in Santarém on Sunday. These awards also include a Gold and Silver Medal in the Tuna Paste category with the products "Tuna Pâté with Oregano" and "Tuna Pâté", respectively, as well as a Silver Medal in the Canned Tuna category with the product "Tuna Fillet with Molho Crú" (Portuguese pickle sauce for fish).
The jury of this contest was composed by a panel of experts; food samples were tested anonymously.
