Azores offer excellent business opportunities for emigrants who wish to invest in the archipelago, says Brito e Abreu
The Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology said in Ponta Delgada that "there are many Azoreans and Portuguese citizens who have distinguished themselves in various areas with their hard work and perseverance, thus providing important contributions to the communities where they live."
"We need to acknowledge the work that we, Portuguese citizens, have done, either in business, culture and art or in science, politics, civil service and sport," stressed Fausto Brito e Abreu. The government official spoke Saturday at the Portuguese of Value Gala 2015 on behalf of the President of the Government.
The Regional Secretary for the Sea defended that we should be "proud of the successful cases that bring prestige to our country and project a positive image of Portugal abroad."
Brito e Abreu highlighted the "excellent business and investment opportunities" provided by the Azores, encouraging successful Portuguese entrepreneurs to invest in the archipelago.
In this context, the government official highlighted "the incentives and support measures created by the Regional Government o to support companies wishing to establish themselves in the Autonomous Region of the Azores and contribute to wealth generation and employment creation."
This year's edition of the Portuguese of Value Gala was held at Coliseu Micaelense. The event was organised by Lusopress and Mistério Insular Cultural Association with the aim of honouring and distinguish Portuguese citizens who have distinguished themselves in various areas, either in Portugal or in the Diaspora communities.
During the ceremony, the Regional Government of the Azores was distinguished with an Award of Honour and Merit.
