Government of the Azores "committed" to create Maritime Training School in Horta, says Fausto Brito e Abreu
The Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology assured today that the Government of the Azores is "committed" to create a Maritime Training School in the city of Horta.
Speaking to journalists at the end of a meeting with the Mayor of Horta City Hall, José Leonardo Silva, Fausto Brito e Abreu mentioned the existence of a project under assessment, which will be announced soon.
The Regional Secretary stated that this announcement was slightly postponed "so that the Regional Secretariat for the Sea could pay special attention to this project."
Questioned by journalists on the themes addressed during the meeting with the mayor, the Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology stressed that "several areas of common interest were under discussion."
"We discussed a wide range of subjects related to the Sea, the importance of promoting Horta and Faial as a destination for international regattas, the fisheries sector and the relevance of vocational training courses in this area," stressed Fausto Brito e Abreu.
