The Regional Secretariat for the Sea, Science and Technology decided to extend the duration of all research grant contracts directly funded by the Regional Fund for Science and Technology for another 30 days.
The situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions have prevented grant holders from carrying out their research activities.
In March, research grant contracts had already been extended for one month.
This measure covers 42 doctoral, postdoctoral and postdoctoral grant holders working in business context.
The Regional Secretariat for the Sea, Science and Technology has also decided to extend the DOC-PROF application period for another month due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The DOC-PROF programme awards ten financing grants for recent-doctoral researchers to integrate the regional labour market, corresponding to an investment of around 300 thousand Euros. It is available on the "idia Azores" platform at https://idia.azores.gov.pt/.
These grants, with a duration of 18 months, are aimed at recent doctorates who have obtained their doctorate degree less than four years after the date of the thesis' defence. They are primarily intended to encourage the inclusion of doctorates in both public and private research institutions of the Azores Scientific and Technological System.
