Regional Government launches tender to equip Terceira Science and Technology - TERINOV
The Regional Secretariat for the Sea, Science and Technology, through the Regional Directorate for Science and Technology, launched this month two public tenders for the acquisition of furniture, technical furniture and equipment for the Terceira Science and Technology Park - TERINOV.
The tenders, published in the Official Gazette, aim to equip and furnish the laboratories, namely the Vegetable Tissue Culture Laboratory, the Microbiology Laboratory, the Molecular Biology Laboratory and the In Vivo Plant Cultivation space. It will also include the remaining working rooms, offices, meeting rooms, the cafeteria, the lounge and the multipurpose room.
The deadline for the submission of tenders within 35 days from the publication date of tenders.
Until the end of October, the department will open another two procedures by direct adjustment for the acquisition of specialised equipment for the manufacture of prototypes and computer equipment.
The specialised equipment for the manufacture of prototypes intends to equip TERINOV with tools that will provide value-added services to its users so that they may validate their products, services and business models.
These tender procedures represent an investment of approximately 473 thousand Euros.
With an overall investment of around 10 million Euros, with eligible expenses co-financed at 85% by the Azores 2020 Operational Programme, TERINOV is focused on some regional smart specialisation areas (RIS3) that will contribute to the transfer of knowledge to companies and the emergence of start-ups.
This infrastructure focuses on agro-industries, agro-food industry and biotechnology. Nevertheless, it will also cover areas such as renewable energies, the environment, information technologies and the creative industries, with the aim of creating synergies between the scientific and industrial areas.
This work falls within the Economic Revitalisation Plan for Terceira Island, thus contribute to the economic development and job creation on this Island.
