The Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology announced today the opening of a tender to support scientific publications, including books, magazines and proceedings of scientific meetings, amounting to 30 thousand Euros.
Speaking during a visit to the Azores Biotechnology Centre (CBA), Fausto Brito e Abreu said this measure is intended to finance "scientific periodical publications and non-periodical written by Portuguese researchers or foreign scientists conducting research at Azorean Scientific and Technological System organisations this year.”
According to the Regional Secretary, this tender aims to "stimulate specialised scientific production and disseminate the results of the regional scientific research at national and international level. With this measure, "researchers will have the possibility to publish their master's thesis."
Included in the PRO-SCIENTIA programme, the tender also intends to project scientific research developed in the Azores, through the dissemination of publications on paper and in electronic format.
Those who are interested may apply from today until June 30.The notice and the application form are available in the idea-SG project management platform that can be accessed on the Regional Government's Internet site for Science at: http://www.azores.gov.pt/Gra/CTacores/menus/principal/concursos/.
In March, the Regional Government had already opened a public tender, with a budget of 15 thousand Euros, to support the public of scientific articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
