The Terceira Science and Technology Park Association will hold a workshop on "Technology-Based Entrepreneurship: Valuation of Knowledge" in Angra do Heroísmo on May 12. It aims to raise the awareness of the scientific and academic communities for the concept of entrepreneurship and the incubation process of companies.
This initiative aims to promote technology-based entrepreneurship and innovation as a path to rejuvenate the Azorean business fabric and encourage the competitiveness of regional companies, through the diversification of products and services and the enhancement of endogenous resources.
Disseminating the areas of action of the future TERINOV - Terceira Science and Technology Park, namely the cultural and creative industries associated with the technological area, is also another goal of this event. It will include the participation of national start-ups operating in the agricultural sector, including "Faarm" and "Trigger Systems," and the agri-food sector, "Doctor Gummy."
This event will be also attended by the Society for Business Development of the Azores (SDEA), which will address regional policies and incentives for entrepreneurship.
The initiative, which will take place at the Faculty of Agrarian and Environmental Sciences of the University of the Azores, is especially aimed at higher education students and researchers of the University of the Azores.
