The Regional Secretary of the Presidency is responsible for defining and executing the measures required to implement regional policy on parliamentary affairs and the media and for coordinating special and inter-departmental projects.
The Regional Secretary of the Presidency is specifically responsible for:
a) Defining and overseeing relations between the Regional Government and the Legislative Assembly and political parties;
b) Coordinating the submission of draft legislative decrees and regional regulations to the Council of the Regional Government, in addition to any other legislation deemed necessary;
c) Referring regional draft legislative decrees to the Legislative Assembly, together with any other documents the regional government decides should be submitted, and overseeing the forwarding of regional government legislation to be signed by the Special Representative of the Republic, in addition to the publication of the said legislation, as appropriate;
d) Forming part of permanent regional representations in European regional cooperation organisations of which the President of the Government is a member;
e) Defining and overseeing regional policy on the media and drawing up the related development plans for inclusion in the annual regional plan and medium-term guidelines;
f) Promoting, coordinating and supervising measures associated with the implementation and execution of plans established for the media sector;
g) Developing and supporting training activities with a view to improving understanding of media affairs;
h) Producing and signing orders, despatches, circulars and instructions on matters within its area of authority;
i) Supervising the activities of the Official Gazette Editorial Office;
j) Coordinating the "Portal of the Regional Government" and "Electronic Government" projects;
l) Relations with other autonomous regions and similar bodies;
m) Relations with organisations dedicated to fostering inter-regional dialogue and cooperation;
n) External cooperation;
o) Coordination of special inter-departmental projects.
