Government approves inclusion of works carried out at schools in the technical and financial cooperation scheme
The Government of the Azores announced today the inclusion of two investments in the renewal works of São Miguel schools, with a 2.5 million Euro budget, in the technical and financial cooperation scheme with local authorities.
The decision was approved at the last meeting of the Council of the Government, whose press release was presented on Monday by the Regional Secretary of the Presidency, André Bradford.
The investments now included in the Government's technical cooperation scheme with local authorities comprise the renewal works of Ribeirinha Elementary School and Kindergarten in the municipality of Vila Franca and the expansion works of Francisco Medeiros Garoupa School in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo.
At the same meeting, the Council of the Government also authorised the transfer of use of the upper floors of a building located on Rua Conselheiro Terra Pinheiro in the village of Madalena to the Pico based association "Os Montanheiros," Azores Regional Wine Commission and ADELIAÇOR.
As the Regional Secretary of the Presidency explained, these facilities had "no present use and, in this context, we are also contributing to the recovery of the building. Moreover, we will support the operation and development of activities by three associations with relevance at a local and regional level."
"This transfer solves the problem concerning the Azores Regional Wine Commission facilities, thus providing better conditions for the implementation of the dissemination and certification process of Azorean wines," added André Bradford.
