The Government of the Azores approved today the Investment Plan with a global amount of 36.3 million Euros to be carried out by SATA - Gestão de Aeródromos, S.A during the current year.
The decision was announced by Regional Secretary of the Presidency, André Bradford, during the presentation of the press release from the meeting of the Council of the Government held on the island of Graciosa.
According to government official, the interventions comprised by the investment plan include the renewal work of the runway STRIP of Pico airport and the construction of fence wall at S. Jorge Aerodrome.
The recently approved plan also includes the preparation of the construction projects of the firefighting services/terminal/warehouse as well as the expansion of the runway, the installation of a lighting system and the construction of a parking apron at Corvo Aerodrome; and the construction of a new terminal at Graciosa Aerodrome, including the cargo warehouses.
At the same meeting, the Government also decided to stipulate the amount of the contract-programmes to be signed with the entities participating in sports event of public or tourist interest that fall within the Region's external promotion; the total amount being of 2,743,657.63 Euros, which corresponds to reduction of 15% compared to the sum allocated previously.
