"Educating for entrepreneurship contributes to change youngsters' behaviour in the medium-term." The statement was made by the Regional Director for Youth, Bruno Pacheco, during the speech delivered at the Vila Franca do Campo Vocational Training School yesterday during the 2nd follow-up visit to schools, an initiative of the project "Entrepreneurial Education: The Path to Success!".
The meeting took place at the Vila Franca do Campo multipurpose hall, Açor Arena, and was attended by several classes from the Vila Franca do Campo Vocational Training School that are involved in the educational programme for entrepreneurship developed by the Azorean Government.
The Regional Director for Youth stressed the importance of adopting an attitude towards entrepreneurship, saying "if one does nothing today to change mentalities, it will be more difficult in the future."
In this regard, Bruno Pacheco said "there are interesting indicators that are not specifically related with the Entrepreneurial Education programme, but with the strategy outlined by the Regional Government to encourage entrepreneurship." And, in this context, he mentioned the new business projects led by Azorean youngsters throughout the archipelago.
The Regional Director further explained that the 2nd follow-up visit aims to "assess the implementation process of the goals set by this programme among the chosen and selected target-audience as well as the establishment of Entrepreneurship Clubs, being one the cornerstones in implementing this programme at schools."
Bruno Pacheco also clarifies that the third phase of the programme is currently being prepared - regional contest IdeiAçores.
IdeiAçores is an initiative developed by the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth and the Regional Directorate for Education, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Centre of the University of the Azores. The programme will run until the end of May.
"Reaching more schools, involving more teachers and, thus, changing mentalities" are some of the goals set by IdeAçores for the next school year, concluded the Regional for Youth.
