Opinion survey reveals that most Azoreans consider the care provided by regional health services as "good"
An opinion survey conducted in the Azores between June 15 and 20 reveals that most Azoreans consider the care and services provided at regional health centres and hospitals as "good."
The information was provided by the Regional Secretary for Health stated at the end of a visit the construction site of the new "Bloc C" building of Horta Hospital on Friday. Of the 1500 respondents to this opinion survey, 60% considered the services provided as "good" and another 35% considered them as "fair."
"We are very pleased with this fact, although we can always" improve even further the emergency services and care provided at hospitals and health centres if we all "work towards quality," stated Miguel Correia.
In this regard, the government official reminded that the Ponta Delgada Hospital already has international accreditation. The Horta Hospital is carrying out the necessary procedures to obtain this accreditation, although it may only be awarded after the opening of the new "Bloc C."
According to Miguel Correia, the Angra do Heroísmo Hospital "has now all the conditions to carry out this process."
