Humanitarian Associations of Voluntary Firefighters to receive this week 10% increase in funding of urgent patient transport services
The Resolution approved by the Council of the Government increasing the monthly sum allocated to Humanitarian Associations of Volunteer Firefighters by 10%, with retroactive effect from July 1, was published today in the Official Journal.
With this Resolution, the Regional Government's financing for this component will reach the annual amount of 3.4 million Euros, which will be allocated to all Humanitarian Associations of Volunteer Firefighters in the Region.
Following the stipulation of the amounts paid between July and November, the Regional Government will transfer 129 thousand Euros to the Humanitarian Associations of Volunteer Firefighters this week.
This amendment took into account the increase in the number of ambulance services, the need to allocate more human resources for this service and the additional financial effort for an efficient response adapted to reality of services provided by firefighters' association, thus introducing improvements in the procedures in force.
This update is the result of a commitment made at the Regional Fire Council after a consultation period with the Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service and the Humanitarian Associations of Volunteer Firefighters.
