The Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Services (SRPCBA) informs that a series of incidents have been registered throughout the archipelago due to the bad weather conditions. A total of 56 incidents were registered: fall of trees (16), floods (29) and minor landslides (11).
Terceira and São Miguel were the islands most affected by the instability conditions generated by a complex barometric depression that caused heavy rainfall and strong winds.
The landslides that occurred in Fajã dos Cubres (Calheta, São Jorge) are being monitored by members of the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures and of the Calheta Town Hall.
The SRPCBA informs that all the registered incidents, with the exception of Fajã dos Cubres, are already solved.
The Civil Protection Services also recommends taking the appropriate precautions in this type of situations and informs that, according to the weather forecast, rainfall is expected to decrease in the next days.
