Maria Teresa da Silveira Bretão Machado Luciano holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra. She is a doctoral candidate in International Health and holds postgraduate degrees in Health and Development and in Marketing and International Business.
She has extensive complementary training, including the Advanced Programme for Managers of Health Institutions and the Advanced Programme for Executive Officers.
She has chaired the Administration Board of São Miguel Island Health Unit and has been a member of the Administration Board of Algarve Hospital Centre.
With extensive professional experience in the area of Health, she has also served as President of the Administration Board of Saudaçor and as Executive Director of Amadora and Northern West Health Centres Groups.
She took office as Regional Secretary for Health of the XII Regional Government of the Azores on July 2, 2019.
