Horta Hospital is "example of evolution” in the Regional Health Service, says Luís Cabral
The Regional Secretary for Health stressed the "evolution” registered by the Horta Hospital "in terms of its assertion in the regional context," considering that this situation reflects the "commitment of its professionals."
Speaking Wednesday at the solemn ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of the Horta Hospital, Luís Cabral said this evolution was registered in the expansion of the physical space, which increased the provision of healthcare services, as well as in the commitment of professionals, which resulted in the increase of consultations and surgeries in the last three years.
In his speech, the Regional Secretary stressed that the increase has been steady, highlighting that in periods between 2014 and 2015, from January to July, there was a 30 percent increase in consultations and nearly a 20 percent increase in surgeries. The government official also mentioned the desire to improve "at a time when there were greater difficulties in the operation of the Regional Health Service."
"This hospital was able to show that, in difficult times, it is possible to find sustainable paths and new ways of working, which, simultaneously, provide a more direct response to the wishes of our users," said Luís Cabral.
"Today, we can say that we have a more solid hospital with a level of differentiation that will project the future with hope and quality," stressed the Regional Secretary for Health.
