Luís Cabral congratulates Azores Fire services for results achieved at national level
The Regional Secretary for Health highlighted the good performance of the Azores fire teams in the National Manoeuvres Competition, congratulating participants for the results achieved in this competition and the commitment shown to achieve them.
The three teams of Ribeira Grande Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters who participated in the 35th National Manoeuvres Competition during the weekend won the first, third and fourth place in their respective categories.
The "Women A" team won the first place in this category, becoming national champion. It will represent Portugal in the international competition to take in Austria in 2017.
In turn, the "Men A" team won third place in the competition and, therefore, will represent Portugal at the International Committee for Prevention and Control of Fire (CTIF), which will also take place in Austria.
The "Cadets Men" team won fourth place in its category, a prominent position for young Azoreans in this national competition.
The 35th National Manoeuvres Competition for Firefighters and 34th competition for Cadets were held Saturday and Sunday at the sports hall of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.
The Ribeira Grande Volunteer Fire Brigade has stood out in this competition over the years, having won several competitions in various categories and represented the country in international events.
In turn, the Praia da Vitória Volunteer Fire Brigade, who participated in the National Trauma Championships in Elvas, won third place in the Complex Manoeuvre category and reached seventh place in the overall competition.
