Regional Government releases list of COVID-19 testing laboratories in Mainland Portugal
The Regional Health Secretariat has already released the list of laboratories that have signed the agreement for the conduction of screening tests for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the COVID-19 disease, in Mainland Portugal.
As of today, residents and non-residents travelling to the Region will have the possibility of being tested at the nearest sample collection point from their area of residence, with the test costs being fully incurred the Regional Government.
They should contact one of the sample collection points of the laboratories included in the Regional Government's list, presenting proof of booking, payment of the trip and ID document.
In turn, the laboratory must schedule and carry out the test up to 72 hours before departure and send the result to the person concerned and to the Regional Directorate for Health until the time of travel.
On arrival, passengers should present a certificate, in paper or digital form, confirming that a screening test has been carried out with negative result for SARS-CoV-2.
The agreement signed between the Regional Government and the designated laboratories is mainly intended for the conduction of screening tests for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus using the RT-PCR methodology, thus making the travel process and the arrival in the Region more convenient. This measure will ensure the safeguarding of passengers as well as of public health.
