The Regional Secretariat for Health revealed today that the announced increase of user fees in Mainland Portugal will not be extended to the Azores, with the exception of laboratory tests, whose fees are stipulated by national legislation.
The amounts stipulated for consultations and emergency services at hospitals and health centres will remain the same in the Azores. The fees for consultations at hospitals will remain at five Euros and two Euros for consultations at health centres. In the case of emergency services, the fees remain at six Euros for hospitals and four Euros for health centres.
Physiotherapy sessions will maintain the price of one Euro per session.
Imaging exams will continue to be exempt from user fees at Regional Health Service units.
