Government of the Azores launches public tender for allocation 52 dwellings on São Miguel Island
The tender for the allocation of 52 dwellings on the island of São Miguel on a lease scheme with purchase option, promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Social Solidarity, through the Regional Directorate for Housing, was published today in the Official Journal.
Under this tender, the Government will allocate 10 one-bedroom apartments, 26 two-bedroom apartments and 16 3-bedroom apartments on buildings no. 80 and 81 of Piedade Jovem neighbourhood in the village of Arrifes, municipality of Ponta Delgada.
The Autonomous Region of the Azores leases these units to the Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation, representing an annual investment of nearly 210 thousand Euros. They will be sublet by applicants until the purchase option is taken.
The stipulated rent will be subsidised according to the social and economic conditions of applicants.
This initiative complies with the goal set by the Regional Government for the provision of housing to households with difficulties in the access to bank loans, namely young couples. It will simultaneously solve house shortages affecting the most populous areas of the Region.
