Government of the Azores stipulated deadline for applications to support serious housing shortage situations
The Government of the Azores, through a normative order published today in the Official Journal, has stipulated the deadline for applications to the branch of the Families with Future programme dedicated to the resolution of serious housing shortage situations between April 1 and June 30.
The stipulated deadline intends to mitigate the constraints faced by the services in charge of processing applications with regard to the selection of priority applications according to priority and score criteria established for this purpose. This will speed the process, thus protecting the rights and interests of citizens.
The application procedures awarded with priority status evidence severe housing situations, namely families with no place to live or those who inhabit spaces without minimum safety and health conditions as well as households that include people with disabilities, children and elderly. Moreover, priority status is also awarded to situations where housing needs are the result of domestic violence.
The resolution of severe housing shortage situations is carried out through the support to the lease of houses acquired or built by the Region or the sub-lease of houses rented by the Region in real estate.
Interested parties who wish to obtain information and submit applications may do so at the services of the Regional Directorate for Housing and island services, at the offices of the Citizen Support Integrated Network (RIAC) or on the Regional Government Portal.
