Government of the Azores supports improvement of housing conditions of 11 families on Graciosa
The Government of the Azores allocated today financial support for the improvement of the housing conditions of 11 families residing on Graciosa at a ceremony held in Santa Cruz da Graciosa. The measure will benefit a total of forty people.
During the ceremony, attended by the Regional Director for Housing, a total of 10 support measures were granted for the recovery of degraded housing and one support measure for the acquisition of permanent housing.
With this public investment over 180 thousand Euros, Carlos Faias stressed that the Government will support the improvement of the housing conditions of 11 families and, thus, encourage the maintenance of these families on the island of Graciosa.
In his speech, the Regional Director for Housing also mentioned that these support measures "are a strong contribution to the local construction companies" as well as to the preservation of housing developments and building heritage.
Carlos Beech stressed that this support "are the result of good use of the taxes paid by all Azoreans, helping families and companies."
In the current legislative period, the Regional Government has authorised 44 applications to various housing support programmes on the island of Graciosa, which represents a total investment of 350 thousand Euros. The Government has already reimbursed 430 thousand Euros to 52 applications.
